Tropitone Furniture Company, Inc., will open the Hospitality Design Expo & Conference in Las Vegas by announcing the creation of a new brand - Tropitone MODA. The company also will introduce Toulon, the first product group of the new brand.
"We are excited to introduce both the Tropitone MODA brand and Toulon, the first group under the brand," said Tanya Stevens, VP of marketing and service operations. "Tropitone MODA will offer distinctive fashion solutions for special spaces. All products will have refined designs and meticulous workmanship. The brand personality will be elegant, gracious and sophisticated."
Stevens added, "Although the brand is targeted primarily at the commercial market segment, we believe many of the products will crossover and appeal to certain residential customers. The products were designed to withstand the outdoor environment, but we believe they will find their way to indoor spaces as well."
Toulon, the first product group under the new brand, can be best described as a collection of elegantly simple stainless steel frames graciously upholstered with sophisticated Ferrari and Sunbrella fabrics.
"We are introducing Toulon as the first Tropitone MODA group because it completely captures the personality of the brand," said Tom Keddy, director of product management. "All future introductions for the brand will have the same polished, cultured and urbane personality."
The Toulon group includes 13 models: dining chair, chat chair, lounge chair, loveseat, square corner module, center module, right two-seater module, chaise lounge, square ottoman, lounger with shade, lounger ottoman, coffee table and end table. Many of the models can be grouped together in modular fashion. Each frame is stainless steel and all backs, sides and cushions are upholstered. Additionally, coordinating dining tables are being introduced to complement the Toulon group.
"Toulon is the first of several groups under the new brand," said Peter Homestead, VP of design. "Our intent for the HD Expo & Conference introduction is to create a focused initial impression for the brand and the products. We did not want to flood the senses with multiple groups. We will introduce other new groups under the Tropitone MODA brand in the near future."
Tropitone MODA was developed as a complement to the core Tropitone brand. "The brand market positions are very different," said John Mattson, VP of commercial sales & business development. "The Tropitone brand and products are timeless, fun and easily approachable. The Tropitone brand began at poolside. We have expanded it to other spaces, but the brand and products clearly communicate quintessential outdoor enjoyment. The Tropitone MODA brand and products will communicate leading-edge designs with elegance and sophistication."
In addition to Tropitone MODA, the company is expanding its commercial market product offerings at the HD Expo, May 15-17.
"The HD Expo & Conference has always been a successful show for Tropitone. We wanted to build on that positive momentum yet again in 2012," Mattson said. "We are introducing new products, a new finish and additions & improvements to existing groups. The HD Show also has proven to be a tremendous opportunity to communicate our robust product customization capabilities that meet the unique requirements of individual designers, owners and managers."
Following up on the successful 2011 launch of Elance chaise lounges, Tropitone is adding dining chairs, barstools and spa chairs to the group. Each model is available in an aluminum frame with all 18 powder coat finishes and options of EZ Span, relaxed sling, duplex sling and padded sling.
The Cabana Club group expands again with the addition of a stacking chaise lounge. The model is available in an aluminum frame with all 18 powder coat finishes with options of relaxed sling, duplex sling and padded sling. The new Cabana Club chaise lounges join Tropitone's broad line of over a dozen stacking/nesting chaises in such popular designs as South Beach, Evo, Elance, Echo, La Scala, MainSail, Spinnaker, Sorrento, Opus, Millennia, Kahana and Tropi-Kai.
Basta Sole Cabanas with aluminum frames can now be ordered with optional Sunbrella sheer curtains. Sheers in combination with the standard curtains create a layered look that enhances style, comfort and intimacy for semi-private party lounging. Curtain trim, TV mounts and ceiling fan mounts were previously available only as custom options. They are now available as regularly available options. Also, a number of other design changes have been made to Basta Sole Cabanas with aluminum frames to improve functionality.
Tropitone is extending the revolutionary URComfort seat adjustment system to Lakeside and Montreux spa chairs in sling, duplex sling or padded sling. The multi-pivot-point seat adjustment system allows the user to find the most comfortable position without getting out of the chair. URComfort can be adapted to any body size and weight with a simple adjustment of a single knob on each side of the seat. The few moving parts are elegantly simple and easy to maintain.
Tropitone has established Banchetto slat-type aluminum tables as a versatile group that satisfies a wide range of styles. Six new dining tables have been added to expand the offering: 30", 36" & 42" round; 36" & 42" square, and 36" X 24" rectangle. Three new bar tables have been added: 36" & 42" round and 42" square. The Company has also introduced a new bench and console table. Each new model is available in all 18 regularly available powder coat finishes.
The new Titanium frame color is a great example of Tropitone's product customization capabilities. Titanium was custom-developed for a specific customer. The new color has become so popular that the company decided to add it to its regularly available powder coat finish offering. Titanium is an elegant Tropitone silver with a slight sheen that brings added sophistication to a wide range of frame designs. Titanium brings to 18 the number of regularly available powder coat finishes.
