Birding & Backyard Nature to debut

AmericasMart is adding the Birding & Backyard Nature category as a component of its Market Temporaries.
Birding & Backyard Nature will make its debut at the January 2011 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.
“It is through the valued input of our exhibitors and buyers that AmericasMart has successfully continued to develop new product centers — and expand existing ones — in order to offer the very best market experience,” said JoAnn Marshal-Miller, senior vice president of the Market Temporaries, AmericasMart. “Birding & Backyard Nature evolved from the growing needs of buyers who already shop AmericasMart with specific interest in this product category, as well as manufacturers and designers’ desire to extend their exposure to a broader range of gift, home and specialty store buyers.”
The Birding & Backyard Nature collection will focus on birding and nature-related products, including birdfeeders, birdhouses, bird seed, birdbaths, birding and nature books, field guides, optics, hardware, birding software, nature-themed giftware, note cards, magnets, bookmarks, butterfly houses, bat houses, wildlife art, bird-themed jewelry, birding accessories, recycled nature products, water garden supplies and decor.
“Despite, and perhaps because of the economy, people are investing in the enjoyment of backyard nature and bird feeding,” said Barry D. Colvin, president of Aspects, Inc., a leading manufacturer in the Wild Bird Feeder industry. “Overall, we’ve seen our sales of Wild Bird Feeders increase over the past 24 months; this is a profitable and entertaining consumer segment that most retailers can take advantage of. We’re especially excited that AmericasMart has brought this category to the forefront.”
Birding & Backyard Nature will be staged in AmericasMart’s fourth and newest building, Building 2 WestWing, on Floor 3, which is also home to the Gardens temporary collection. The Gardens permanent product center is also located in Building 2 WestWing on Floors 9 and 10, strategically aligning all three collections for convenient buying.
