Jewels of Java attends Indonesia-U.S. trade summit

NEW YORK - Jewels of Java President Karel Simeon and Business Manager Barbara Simeon attended an Indonesia-U.S. trade summit June 8 at the invitation of the Vice Minister of Trade Bayu Krisnamurthi.
Also attending were the Commercial Attache from Washington D.C. Ni Made Marthini, Consular General Ghafur Akbar Dharmaputra, Consul of Economic Affairs Rosanna Suparmono, former Ambassador to Indonesia Cameron Hume, President of the American-Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Wayne Forest and 10 others from areas of financial investment, advertising and promotion, American and Indonesian Business Community members.
Opportunity and issues in trade between the United States and Indonesia where discussed and relationships were strengthened to promote future opportunities. Specifically, Simeon discussed the implementation of SVLK, new mandated regulations for natural materials used in exports from Indonesia that will take effect in January 2014.
