2012 Pinnacle Award winners announced

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Winners of the 17th annual American Society of Furniture Designers Pinnacle Awards were announced Monday evening during a ceremony at the fall High Point Market.

Elements Collection
Richard Frinier, ASFD; Martha Lopacki, Greg Robb for Brown Jordan
Brown Jordan brings ultra chic design to the outdoor room with the highly sophisticated mixture of diverse materials in the Elements Collection. This is an especially well coordinated modular group that also suggests an eco quality.

Avalon Heights
Richard Schroeder, ASFD; Denis Kissane, ASFD; Gary Hokanson, ASFD for Stanley Furniture
Stylish, graceful lines lend a glamourous appeal to accent tables in the Avalon Heights Collection by Stanley Furniture. The modern design is clean and beautiful with a geometric grid motif expressed in a handsome combination of metal and glass.

The Melange Collection by Hooker Furniture takes an eclectic blend of color and texture to deliver artistry in unique accent pieces. We love the complex combination of materials that pairs a textural burlap finish with decorative painting. The chest has great proportion of scale to create a fun, cute gem that is pleasing to the eye.

Hooker Furniture presents a versatile touch of feminine flavor in the youth category that also translates into a broader appeal that is suitable for the second bedroom. The Abby Collection translates good design from a younger to older child at a good price point. The padded headboard gives the group a special glamour.

Casual Dining

Stanley Furniture gives a modern twist to casual dining with metro design elements. Inspired with a sense of nostalgia, Artisan features a pleasing mixture of materials. The use of woven leather as the seat cover is an unexpected component.

Formal Dining

Stanley produces easy elegance for the dining room with the blend of vintage flavors found in Arrondissement. The design is impressive in its nice use of wood and striking table top detail. We also applaud the variety of finish tones.

American Leather takes a modern approach to classical recliner design with Brayden. The clean, contemporary styling provides a graceful silhouette. We admire the ergonomic adjustability of the frame and take notice of the patented mechanism.

The Varese Sofa by Century Furniture is simply a beautiful upholstery frame. The shaped lines of the silhouette exude a comfortable grace that is heightened through the multi-pillow back and dressmaker skirt.
