O.W. Lee names new director of sales and marketing
O.W. Lee named Jeff B. Dorough as director of sales and marketing for the Ontario, Calif.-based manufacturer, beginning Jan. 8. Dorough brings many years of experience in the casual industry, most recently with umbrella manufacturer Treasure Garden.
"We're really excited to have him on board," said Terri Lee Rogers, co-president of O.W. Lee.
In related news, the company also expanded the territory of sales representative Ron Ball. Ball's territory now includes Texas and Oklahoma, in addition to Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia.
Vince Hankins named director of new business development for Glen Raven
Vince Hankins has been named director of new business development for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics.
In the newly created position, Hankins will be responsible for the identification and development of new product and new market opportunities for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. Hankins, who previously worked for Glen Raven's yarn group, will report to Harry Gobble, director of marketing.
Hankins has more than 19 years experience in the textile industry and was previously with Unifi, Inc. as sales manager for its nylon business. He earned a degree in textile chemistry from N.C. State University.
Rick Vlahos joins HPBEF team as senior manager of training
The Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Education Foundation hired Rick Vlahos as senior manager of training.
Prior to joining the HPBEF, Vlahos was the education coordinator for HearthStone Quality Home Heating Products where he developed and presented 20 to 30 regional sales and technical training programs per year for the company.
Vlahos will develop training programs for HPBEF, as well as for the National Fireplace Institute® certification programs and the Fireplace Installers Training Systems. He also will develop a new HPBEF service: online training courses for hearth professionals.
Terra Furniture adds sales reps
Terra Furniture has appointed the team of Benner-O'Meara to handle all of its sales for the Southern California patio dealer market.
MHP names new reps
Modern Home Products has appointed new independent sales representatives. Ross Johnson of JBI West Inc., Atlanta, will be responsible for Kodar and MHP's sales in Tennessee and Kentucky. Chuck Tunnell of Babcock & Tunnell Inc., Martinsville, Va., will handle Kodar, ProFire Gas Grills and MHP's product lines for North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Plymouth, Minn.-based Stabeck Sales & Marketing Group's territory has been expanded for Kodar, ProFire Gas Grills and MHP's product lines to include Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.
MMPI adds two leasing directors, High Point
Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., named Shannon Lee and Julie Messner as directors of leasing for MMPI properties in High Point, N.C. Both bring experience as sales associates with Rose Furniture Company in High Point.
Casual Creations adds key people
Ken Tucker, formerly of Carter Grandle, has joined Casual Creations of Sarasota, Fla., as production manager. Tucker started his career in the casual furniture industry in 1981, with Halcyon as plant manager.
Patricia Booth also joined Casual Creations in a newly created position of product and inventory control manager.
Woodard adds two retail reps
Charles Kent rejoined the Woodard sales team, bringing 31 years of experience in the industry. Kent previously represented Woodard for 10 years, spanning from 1985 through 1995 and will be handling the Midwestern territories of Wisconsin and the greater Chicago land area.
Also joining the Woodard sales team is Jay Vander Horst, who will represent the balance of the Midwestern territories, including Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and portions of Illinois. Vander Horst joins the Woodard sales force with more than 20 years of experience in the industry.
Kent and Vander Horst will be responsible for sales of all Woodard lines.
