As consumer interest in environmentally friendly products grows, retailers have an opportunity to pocket some “green” — consumer’s shopping practices are sure to reflect their increasing desire for organic, eco-friendly, green products.

According to Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates’ Green Brands Survey, four out of five consumers believe it is important for companies to implement environmentally friendly practices.

Several major retailers of outdoor wooden furniture are doing just that — moving toward products that come from sustainably, well-managed forests, according to the National Wildlife Federation. The Forest Stewardship Council logo provides the assurance of eco-friendliness to these products.
