Seasonal Living adds new collections during winter shows
January 5, 2009,
Seasonal Living Trading Co., an Austin, Texas-based importer and manufacturer of home furnishing and decor is marking the Spring 2009 season with the introduction of several bold, modern and eco-friendly product lines, including mid-century modern inspired designs by Bradley Price.
This broadened indoor/outdoor direction may best be reflected this season by the mid-century inspired furnishings of rising, young designer, Bradley Price. Recently honored for his work by the likes of Knoll, the Toronto Interior Design Show and the Interior Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, Price contributes two sleek, clean-lined collections to Seasonal Livings current line up.
iRoc Rocker Collection
Seasonal Living and Bradley Price conceived the iRoc (design patent pending) as a modern interpretation of the traditional outdoor wicker rocking chair. Hand-woven of a weatherproof wicker that is fully recyclable and mounted on a stainless steel base, iRoc makes a bold statement with its iconic winged silhouette. With clean, fluid lines influenced by mid-century modernist masterpieces, such as the butterfly chair, this unique indoor/outdoor chair is at home on a patio or deck, but also in a living room or sun porch. The iRoc is available in a variety of colors, from slate or titanium with polished stainless steel to a striking red with powder coated aluminum frame.
Price’s design of Seasonal Living’s Array Collection is a series of steel wire decorative objects that can be used as stools or occasional tables, both indoors and out. The collection name is derived from the computer command used to create the repetitive pattern of delicate wire spars. Each wire spar (leg) is so delicate that it would lack the strength to hold significant weight by itself, but working in concert with the other spars, the engineered stool can support a full-sized adult, achieving great strength while maintaining the look of utter lightness. Array tops are available in a variety of complimentary colors.
Nature's FireFly Collection
Nature's FireFly is part of the eco-friendly NatureDura patented product line, made largely from agricultural forest waste. The collection consists of uniquely versatile cylindrical stools and tables that both illuminate from within and can be used in a variety of different ways, including as a beverage cooler.
The cylinder bases, which comprise bold, clean, fluid lines – striking in their overall simplicity – are formaldehyde-free and entirely bio-degradable. The crisp, white gel-coat tops are entirely recyclable as well. All pieces are weatherproof and entirely suited to indoor or outdoor use.
The collection accomplishes an enchanting nighttime luminescence through the use of the latest in LED lighting technology. Hand-held remote control units activate a variety of light operations -- from a single colored light that illuminates the gel coat tops to any of nine different pulsing light colors. LED lights are powered by easily rechargeable batteries, which provide eight hours of continuous illumination.
An example of the unique versatility of this collection is that, with a quick and easy switch of the top, the accent table can be converted to a planter, the bar table to an attractive bottle/beverage cooler.
"Our goal with the FireFly Collection was to create an environmental line that is both sophisticated and clean-lined while equally suited for indoor or outdoor design applications,” said Seasonal Living CEO Gary Pettitt. “We also wanted to offer our clients a great deal of flexibility in this line. Because each pieces versatile functionality, clients don’t necessarily have to buy each stand-alone piece.”
Solaris Stone Cast Collection
Solaris is a new stone cast collection, manufactured from fiberglass mixed with limestone. Solaris offers retailers and designers a series of integrated and complementary design elements, from wall art and fountains to garden containers, allowing clients to pick and choose according to site-specific design requirements. The incorporation of natural stone (as opposed to more common technique of dyed colors) not only reflects true stone color, it also creates a true stone texture and feel. Another feature invaluable feature of Solaris for retailers or designers is that the patterns offer tremendous flexibility. Different patterns can be achieved by simply changing the direction of the installation from vertical to horizontal. And because the patterns are so complementary, a client need not be worried about one of the pieces being broken during installation because they are all replaceable and interchangeable. The collection includes Dune, Groove and Flo designs.
All of these products and more will be on display at the following winter markets: Atlanta Americasmart, Dallas Supermarket and the Las Vegas World Market.
