Black Mountain Designs, the Phoenix-based manufacturer of iron outdoor furniture, was recently purchased by Innovative Surfaces, a manufacturer of original faux stone tabletops, known for working with companies like O.W. Lee and Meadowcraft.
The company, now known as Innovative Outdoor Design, will continue to market mid- to high-end wrought iron casual furniture and will operate out of a 60,000-sq.-ft. facility in Phoenix. It is expected to be in full operation by the spring season.
"Our dealer customers have long requested bases for our faux stone tops," Innovative Outdoor Design President Randy Grimmer said. "Now we can provide that as well as offer a full line of luxurious, well designed, quality built outdoor furniture with an emphasis on deep seating."
The company also will expand its faux stone lines to include faux leather, granite and decorative metals.
