Carter Grandle names chief operating officer
Maggie J. Scherette was named chief operating officer of Carter Grandle, President Courtland C. Carter said.
Scherette formerly worked as vice president and general manager of manufacturing facilities in Chicago and New York, a registered representative (SEC Series 7 license) at the prestigious stock brokerage firm of William Blair & Company, Carter said.
Webb G. Carter, chairman/CEO said, "We believe Maggie will revamp Carter Grandle's operations, she will complement and boost customer service and employee retention, which will separate us from others in our industry."
Brown Jordan recognizes sales representatives
Brown Jordan International recently recognized three sales reps for outstanding sales performance and professionalism.
Scott Ellis was awarded Brown Jordan's 25th annual Earl V. Hughes Award for a third time. Ellis has been with Brown Jordan for 15 years and serves the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut territories. The award originated in 1985 in honor of Earl V. Hughes, who became a Brown Jordan sales rep at age 65 and served until his death 23 years later at age 88.
Bob Snyder won the first Winston Tom Jernigan Award, named for one of the founders of Winston Furniture Co. in 1975. Snyder began as a Winston rep 12 years ago and serves the Southern California territory.
Don Thomas won the first Alliance Sales Rep of the Year Award, also planned as an annual award to recognize outstanding sales performance in BJI's direct import program. Thomas has been a BJI rep for 11 years and serves the South Florida territory. He is a 30-year veteran of the industry.
Telescope remembers McGraw, names new sales representative
Telescope Casual Furniture appointed Charlie Hesson as sales representative in Connecticut, Rhode Island and in western and southern Massachusetts. The company also announced the death of Linda McGraw, who died Jan. 5, following a lengthy illness. McGraw worked for Telescope for 41 years as a customer service representative. She is survived by her husband Ken, as well as her mother, daughter, son-in-law, four grandchildren and brother and sister.
Three Birds names new reps
Three Birds Casual Furniture announced Allen Anderson & Associates as its newest sales representatives. Led by Mark and David Oder, Allen Anderson & Associates will direct sales efforts in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Werner reps Thailand, China and U.S.
Joe Werner, formerly of Werner Woods, is an international sales representative working with two factories making woven resin and teak furniture in Thailand, and a Chinese factory making aluminum products. He also works with American manufacturers and distributors.
Lloyd/Flanders presents Don Flanders 2005 Award
Don Flanders presented Jimmy and Carrie Greenberg of Greenberg and Associates the Don Flanders award at the 2005 Lloyd/Flanders awards banquet in Chicago.
The award recognizes outstanding service and sales performance by a representative.
Greenberg and Associates have represented Lloyd/Flanders for 20 years, covering Florida and Caribbean.
In related news, Warren Juliano, national sales manager of Lloyd/Flanders, named Ron Ball sales representative for Tennessee and Georgia.
Ball brings years of experience in the casual furniture industry. He was previously vice president of specialty sales for Brown Jordan International.
Plains, Ga.-based Windham Castings has hired Ken Tucker as plant manager. Tucker formerly was director of operations for Carter Grandle.
FiberBuilt Umbrellas named Amy Forseth as national sales manager. Forseth recently served as specialty retail manager for Brown Jordan International and contract sales manager at Pompeii Furniture.
