Tropitone introduced four new accessories at the HD Expo, including this adjustable chaise lounge shade.
"Tropitone has a reputation of continuously introducing complementary new fabrics, finishes, weaves, accessories and options that develop into significant positive impacts with our customers," said Tom Keddy, Tropitone's director of product management. "For example, last year we introduced our new Titanium powder coat finish and coordinated fabrics that have already captured a large percentage of our sales. This year we are building on those successes with even more complementary new products than usual."
The two new metallic powder coat finishes, Cobalt and Merlot, are bold, brash and shimmering. Cobalt is a vibrant blue and Merlot is the rich color of its namesake wine. With the addition of these two colors, Tropitone now offers 20 powder coat finishes.
The new Vineyard triple strand, twisted cord weave is available on the Evo and Mia groups. The serene browns and grays of the weave "unite together into a harmonious and soothing fusion of color and texture," according to a company press release.
Four new accessories have been specifically designed for hospitality and resorts. The adjustable Chaise Lounge Shade attaches to the headrest of the chaise. This allows individual users to keep the direct sunlight off of their faces as the sun changes position during the day - a popular benefit at the best European resorts.
The Drink Service Flag attaches to the headrest of the chaise. This self-actuated guest signal allows properties to better serve their guests and to increase their beach and poolside cash flow.
The new Towel and Waste Bin and new Towel Cabinet provide coordinated and attractive beach and poolside organization. These two new accessories are available in all 20 Tropitone powder coat finish colors.
At the HD Expo, Tropitone unveiled fabric panels for modular models and metal slat seat and back options for three seating models of the Cabana Club group.
"The Richard Holbrook-designed Cabana Club group has enjoyed tremendous acceptance from both commercial and residential customers," said Brian Mehler, Tropitone's director of design. "The clean architectural lines of the frames for both modular and individual seating create a modern, minimalist look. By adding woven panels to the exterior of the modular models, the frames are transformed into an elegant, more fully upholstered look.
"The woven panel options for the Cabana Club modular models have been very successful," he added. "With the emergence of upholstered outdoor seating, such as the Tropitone Moda Toulon group, we decided it was time to add fabric panel options to the Cabana Club modular models."
The seven new fabric panel options replicate the current woven options. Fabric panels can use any Tropitone cushion fabric. Cushion design can be matched with the same fabric for panels or enhanced with a complementary fabric for panels.
Tropitone continues to build on the Cabana Club platform with optional aluminum metal slat seats and backs for aluminum frame dining chairs, side chairs and stationary bar stools. These models were previously available only in sling seats and backs. The aluminum frames for these models accept both sling and metal slat options. The aluminum frames and the aluminum metal slats are available in all 20 Tropitone powder coat finish colors.
"Fabric panels and metal slat seats and backs are just two ideas we have for the Cabana Club platform," Mehler said. "We have many more options in development for this versatile group."
Richard Holbrook designed several new introductions to the South Beach group of outdoor furniture, including cushion seating.
The designs for the new models to the South Beach group as well as the existing models in the group are the work designer Richard Holbrook, who designed several successful Tropitone collections including Cabana Club, Evo, Mia, Mobilis and Millennia.
"The South Beach chaise lounges, dining chairs, bar stools and spa chairs have been such a success for commercial and residential properties that it only seemed natural to take the South Beach design style into another product collection," Holbrook said. "South Beach cushion models are inspired by the clean, dynamic lines that define the poolside group. My original inspiration for South Beach came from sports cars and Art Deco architecture - like you see all up and down Collins Avenue along the waterfront of Miami's famous South Beach: beautiful automobiles, with sexy curves, surrounded by beautiful people and classic buildings.
"I think the same feeling comes through in the South Beach cushion collection," he added. "The arcs of the armrests and the lean and low proportions are sexy, fresh and a little bit racy - but the proportions are generous and comfortable."
The four South Beach cushion modular seating models include right side arm, left side arm, armless and corner. The three individual seating models include arm chair, love seat and sofa. Complementary models include ottoman, tea table and coffee table.
All South Beach cushion aluminum frames can be finished in any one of Tropitone's 20 powder coat colors. The cushions are available in any of Tropitone's cushion fabrics.
"We gave Richard Holbrook a very difficult design challenge," said John Mattson, VP of sales and business development for Tropitone. "We asked him to bring the same clean, fresh, sexy look of the ultra-successful original South Beach collection to a cushion group. We have received universally positive reactions at both commercial and residential preview showings. Richard definitely accomplished the design objective."
