DiversiTech Gas Grill Splatter Mat Offers Patio Protection

It's a Matter of Splatter and a Hot Add-on Sale

The common denominator between popular-priced gas barbecue grills and high-end solid stainless models is the worry over what damage stains, drips and grease can do to a deck, dock, porch, patio or pool-surround.

DiversiTech has introduced The Gas Grill Splatter Mat to give the customer real low-cost relief from a high-ticket potential problem. In the process, DiversiTech has given retailers an easy, high-margin add-on sales item.

16 Million ‘Qualified’ Potential Sales
The Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association reports that more than 16 million grills were shipped in 2008. Some 57% of the new grills were LP or natural gas type models, and literally every one can use the kind of across-the-board protection The Gas Grill Splatter Mat provides.

“You certainly simplify the customer’s life with this new low-cost, highly effective grill protector,” said Diane Akright, sales coordinator for DiversiTech. “Made in America of lightweight, durable non-woven polypropylene and polyurethane, The Gas Grill Splatter Mat protects the surfaces under gas grills, covers existing stains and is easy to clean. It is also reversible and will not harm composite decking. The standard 30” x 48” size enables it to fit under most gas grills on the market.”

Nearly all gas grills come equipped with grease traps, drip cans, trays or some sort of container to catch the juices and sauces of good grilling. But they do not always trap or contain as they should, especially if backyard chefs forget to empty them regularly, and a messy deck or patio surface is the result. A durable Gas Grill Spatter Mat is the answer.

Easy to Display and Sell
The Gas Grill Splatter Mat shipper displayer is designed to generate strong consumer recognition and product identification. Packed 16 pieces to the case, The Splatter Mat weighs 17 ounces, measures 30” x 48” and is ¼” thick. The suggested retail price is $14.95 to $16.95.

The compact, consumer accessible design of the shipper displayer has POP bulleted features and benefits prominently displayed. Individual sales units are also packaged with a hang tag allowing The Gas Grill Splatter Mat to be pegged if necessary. The Gas Grill Splatter Mat is presented to the consumer at a slight angle, which gives customers a full look at the features and benefits.

DiversiTech’s Gas Grill Splatter Mat will be available in mass merchandising chains, home centers, do-it-yourself, garden, hardware stores, supermarkets and drug stores.
