The company, a manufacturer of outdoor furniture as well as racing lanes for competitive swimming, announced that its Competitor brand Racing Lanes were chosen for the Summer Olympics again this year. The company's racing lanes were also chosen for the U.S. Olympic trials held recently in Omaha, Nebraska.

"We are truly honored that our Competitor Racing Lanes will be in the Olympic pool for the ninth time, including the 2008 games in Beijing," President Richey Smith said. "We feel this speaks to the quality of our product and our reputation among the competitive swimming community throughout the world."

While the Olympics present a prestigious honor for the company, Competitor Racing Lanes are widely used by schools, universities, health clubs, YMCA's and summer swimming facilities throughout North America and the world. Competitor Swim Products also manufactures and/or distributes Stor-Lane Reels, Water Polo Goals, Swedish Speed Goggles and Backstroke Flags.

"Most major swimming events throughout the world are required to use Competitor Racing Lanes per the rules of the International Swimming Federation (FINA)," said Neal Thomas, VP of Richey Industries. "Last year, we produced almost half a million feet of racing lanes for our customers."

Richey Industries as well as its Competitor Swim Products Division is headquartered in Medina, Ohio. Competitor Racing Lanes are sold through distributors, licensees and dealers throughout the world.

Richey Industries, incorporated by Richey Smith more than 25 years ago, also manufactures Great American Woodies outdoor leisure furniture in Medina. That division offers four distinctive lines of seating, swings and table groupings made of cedar, cypress and poly-resin.
