Robert Allen introduces digital fabric book

NEW YORK - The Robert Allen Design Group has created its first digital sample book specifically geared toward the interior design trade, the company announced. Viridian, from the 2013 Spring Color Library Collection: Artistic Color, is the company's inaugural digital book, allowing users to view, shop and email a fabric collection.
This interactive tool is available on the Robert Allen website or as a downloadable PDF. It can be viewed on a desktop computer or on the go with a smartphone or tablet, offering designers the ability to browse the collection wherever and whenever they desire. The Robert Allen Design Group will launch additional books in the Color Library Collection and will make all new, feature collections available as digital fabric books.
"It's always been important to us that our designer clients have the right tools for their business," said Philip H. Kowalczyk, CEO of the Robert Allen Group. "Designers are creative and innovative. Right now they are seeking solutions that are more flexible and digital. We are focused on being their most intuitive partner."
Each book functions like its physical counterpart - users can turn the pages and view each fabric's composition, as well as see close-up views. In addition, designers can click through directly from the digital fabric book to the website to order memos, purchase fabric or learn more about the collection. This new digital book platform and library was spearheaded by Robert Allen's new director of e-commerce and digital marketing, Barbara Marcoon.
"The digital world has entered the interior design space in a serious way and we plan on leading it," Marcoon said. "In March alone, we will be launching three digital innovations to the fabric selection and design process that will innovate the way our clients work."
The digital books will be available on the Robert Allen website at http://robertallendesign.com/fabrics/books/viridian.aspx.
