The Today Show host Savannah Guthrie interviews the U.S. women's gymnastics team in Telescope Casual's signature director chairs.
The chair has been lauded for its ethical manufacturing process, high-quality design and American heritage. The company hires local workers, uses local supplies and grows its own 8,000-acre forest in New York, allowing it to tightly control the quality of its handmade products.
"We take a lot of pride in our manufacturing ethics and have felt privileged that our director chair has become the icon for prestigious events and organizations," said Kathy Juckett, Telescope Casual's CEO. "To now supply our champion chair to the world's greatest Olympic champions is our greatest honor yet. We are thrilled to bring the Olympics a piece of American quality."
According to the Telescope National Shopper Survey, a quarterly Internet survey that reveals key trends and shifts in shoppers' mindsets, 22% of shoppers say that when purchasing outdoor furniture, the most important attribute is that it's made in America.
"It is astonishing to see so that so many people - whether shoppers or large organizations - are seeing the links between buying American and supporting the U.S. economy and job market," Juckett said. "We can all do our part in helping America thrive by buying American."
The survey of 1,500 adults was conducted in May 2012 by WSL Strategic Retail.
