Update: Mallin VP Merv Conn dies after surgery

MinsonTHOUSAND OAKS, Calif - Mallin Casual Furniture Vice President of Marketing & Sales Merv Conn died on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m., as a result of complications from surgery.

Conn is survived by his wife Karen, son Jason, daughter Melissa and other family members. He had been with Mallin for more than five decades.

"His dedication and commitment has been an integral part of our success and growth not only of our company but the entire industry. Merv will be dearly missed," the company said in a statement Monday.

A memorial service will held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, Calif. For more information and directions, call (805) 497-7101 or email office@adatelohim.com.

According to the company release, Brenda Pereyda, assistant vice president of Mallin Casual Furniture, and Kenneth Chen, president, will continue to lead the company to provide customers with sales support.
