LAZY sectional seating solution
Royal Botania has just the solution for those lazy days of summer ahead and is sharing its secret at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair.
The outdoor luxury furniture manufacturer will be showcasing its warm weather wares from May 19-22 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. With close to 20 years in the business, the Belgian brand knows the ins and outs of living, dining and entertaining alfresco.
This year's ICFF booth 1505 will have a special focus on comfort, design and material innovation as the brand is set to unveil Lazy, a minimal and modular sectional. The new Little-L lounger, an expandable Ninix table, now available in powder-coated stainless steel, and iconic Surf hammock will also be on display.
There's a tip, trick and story behind every collection. Here's some to remember at the show and all summer long:
There's no better time than summer to kick back, relax and just be lazy. Designed by Kris Van Puyvelde, this modular sectional from the brand's Red Label Collection offers unlimited seating solutions. Its tranquil name and flexible features were inspired by Puyvelde's children as they frequently rearranged the furniture whenever he was away. Taking a cue from his creative kids, Puyvelde incorporated this customizable concept into his latest outdoor collection. The unit can be configured to fit any occasion, from a lazy Sunday afternoon with the family to a dinner party with friends.
While it features generous proportions, its top-notch design and refined silhouette exude an element of subtle sophistication. Constructed to withstand the elements, the sofa's modern aesthetic is perfectly inline with today's interior trends - making it suitable for outdoors and in! Lazy consists of an extruded anodized aluminum frame and supreme all-weather upholstery to offer the ultimate in comfort. Cushions are available in either tuxedo linen or a nautical-looking white marine leather.
Find the Right Angle
In addition to selecting the SPF, it's important to find a lounger that can adjust to the sun's daily rotation. The new Little-L 195 lounger does just that as it was designed with the right angle in mind. It's 90-degree "L" shape is repeated with great attention to detail throughout the chair. It can easily adjust from an upright to a flat position. Perfect for the pool, it can be easily moved around on its souped up wheels. To find just the right ones, designer Frank Boschman studied different car wheels until he decided upon the stylish rimmed rounds. In addition to the lounger, the comprehensive collection includes a number of seating solutions including an armchair, foldable director's chair and lounger, all dressed in Royal Botania's durable Batyline fabric. An aluminum-framed side table and a 6- or 8-ft. dinner table (with glass or teak top) complete the offerings.
Nothing in Excess
From light clothing to cool outdoor furniture, the summer heat helps shake off some unnecessary layers. With a degree in engineering, Royal Botania co-founder Puyvelde designs all his collections according to human needs and comfort. Usability plays just as important of a role as aesthetics. The Ninix (NNX) collection is a study in ergonomics and material innovation. NNX is based on a simple concept "nothing in excess" and recognized for its clean, compact and minimal design. It is a true blend of form and function. Just about every seat, table and serving piece in the line comes equipped with an invisible positioning mechanism. The NNX 360 is a prime example as the table can easily expand to accommodate more dinner guests thanks to its hidden leaf.
In terms of materials, Ninix is showing off its new skin with the U.S. launch of its powder-coated stainless steel frame. Available in a chic matte black or matte white finish, it offers the structural strength and durability of marine quality stainless steel. Its seat is made of Batyline, an extremely durable and high-quality, UV resistant, synthetic material consisting of a polyester fiber covered by a coating of PVC, making it nearly impossible to tear.
Find time to hit the beach and ride the waves! By popular demand the Belgian manufacturer of outdoor luxury created the SURF, the little brother to the popular WAVE, designed by Erik Nyberg & Gustav Strom. While more compact in size, this two-person hammock is as visually stunning and supremely comfortable as its older sibling. A distinctive feature of this piece is that it appears to and does indeed "hover" in space. The designers fashioned a strategically placed frame to keep the seating/lounging component sturdily in place. Surf is made of Royal Botania's stainless steel and mesh as well as a canopy made from Batyline. This semi-transparent fabric also blocks 86% of the sun's rays. The piece measures 8-feet tall, 11-feet long and 6-ft., 6 inch wide and is available in white, cappuccino, black or turquoise. Surf is able to be permanently installed into the ground, fitted with an optional, sturdy base for placement on a terrace and even has an available wheel set to be placed on the base to allow for maximum mobility.
Many of Royal Botania's most popular pieces are available through its quickship program. While shipment time varies on stock, the brand prides itself on its prompt response time and promises local New York deliveries within 10 days of purchase.
The Belgium-based manufacturer of luxury outdoor furniture and accessories combines aesthetic sensibility and precise functionality in each and every product it offers. Founded by engineers Kris Van Puyvelde and Frank Boschman in 1992, Royal Botania has earned an international reputation for technical refinement and design originality.
