Bella-Dura receives testing approval for commercial awnings

Staff -- Casual Living, 9/1/2007 12:00:00 AM

Wearbest Sil-Tex Mills, Inc., the makers of Bella-Dura performance fabrics, announced that Bella-Dura fabrics can be processed and tested to pass the various FR codes required for commercial awnings and canopies.

This certification includes CSFM Title 19 Section 1237, the exterior materials burn test for public safety, and NFPA-701 TM 1 & 2, small and large scale. These FR characteristics apply to Bella-Dura Classic, Bella-Dura Plush and Bella-Dura Drapery fabrics, when processed with the required FR treatment.

Other features of Bella-Dura fabrics include a minimum of 1,500 hours lightfastness, bleach cleanability, a minimum of 50,000 double rubs, anti-microbial resistance, mildew resistance, inherent stain resistance and water repellence.

The FR treatment was specifically engineered to not affect the other performance characteristics of Bella-Dura, especially the water repellent feature, and the fabrics can still be recycled at the end of its useful life.
