Mark Abrams launches collection for Trees International

Line includes permanent botanicals divided by themes

-- Casual Living, 7/24/2006 7:14:00 AM

Visual merchandising expert and designer Mark Abrams joined forces with Trees International to develop an extensive line of permanent botanicals for indoor and outdoor uses.

"These florals will be the jewelry of any home furnishings or home decor retail floor," Abrams said of the carefully handcrafted line, which initially will include more than 300 SKUs. "We have introductions in areas that are completely new for Trees International." "We do all our own design and fabrication work by hand right here in Lavonia, Georgia," said Tanya Ramos, president, Trees International. The company's focus on excellence and attention to detail has helped them develop a reputation as a leading source for life-like botanicals. One strength of the Mark Abrams line is its well-defined themes, each of which offer multiple product layers to address the diverse market and floor space needs of retailers. A grand-scaled signature piece is the centerpiece of each of the four themes, with smaller sizes and coordinating items seamlessly rounding out the mix. The Mark Abrams collection will offer sizes ranging from 8" to 48", with wholesale pricing beginning at $29. Custom sizes and arrangements are also available. "I've approached this entire line from a merchandising standpoint," Abrams said. The four collections are:
* Irving Park: Inspired by classic lines, colors and textures found in America's grand estates and homes, this offering presents a formal beauty to capture the best of traditional styling and design, including rich jewel tones, toleware and dignified florals.
* Vineyard Road: Reminiscent of the narrow, cobbled streets of Tuscany and the majestic countryside of California, this collection melds olive branches, grapevines, fruit, sunflowers and lavender to bring the feeling of the old country to any home.
* Tenth Street: A graphic, clean approach gives this collection its decidedly urban feel. Etched black glass, earthenware, and water-look containers add depth and interest to its mixture of interesting stones, fruits and florals.
* Hampton Bay: The collection for the everyday getaway. Shells and terrarium-like containers house exotics such as coral, cymbidium orchids, bird of paradise leaves and luxurious succulents to transform any room into a tranquil retreat.
