Cal Spas names vice president of operations

Yandell brings more than 25 years of experience in production and manufacturing

Cal Spas has named Paul Yandell as the new vice president of operations.  

Yandell brings more than 25 years of experience in production and manufacturing, with nearly 15 in the spa industry.  In his new position, Yandell joins the executive team in its mission to ensure quality standards are upheld in manufacturing and across all organizational processes, while growing a network of satisfied customers and continually improving efficiency.

His responsibilities include integrating the latest leading-edge technologies into the company’s operations division. He will oversee the implementation and monitoring of lean-manufacturing techniques that will benefit Cal Spas in terms of cost control, waste reduction, quality and safety, and complete and on-time delivery.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Paul’s extensive experience on board,” said Casey Loyd, president of Cal Spas. “He will undoubtedly help Cal Spas expand our innovative product line, market position and dealer network. His expertise will prove invaluable to the company and our customers as we continue to improve quality and implement lean-manufacturing practices.”

Yandell is the lead instructor for the Lean Enterprise Program at the University of California, San Diego; a member of the western board of directors for the Association of Manufacturing Excellence; and has published three articles on manufacturing management.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his master’s degree from the Universidad de Navarra’s Instituto de Estudios Superiores de le Empresa program in Barcelona, Spain. He currently resides in Claremont, Calif. with his family.
