Nominations underway for 19th Annual ARTS Awards

Dallas Market Center and the Accessories Resource Team are accepting nominees for the 19th Annual ARTS Awards, the one-of-a-kind recognition program that honors outstanding achievement in the decorative accessories industry.

The ARTS Awards, presented each January during the Dallas International Gift and Home Accessories Market, recognizes the top retailers, manufacturers, sales representatives and designers from every region of the United States. The 19th Annual ARTS winners will be revealed during a glamorous “Academy Award-style” gala on Jan. 19, 2008, in the Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart.

Industry professionals and retailers are invited to nominate decorative accessories manufacturers, product designers and sales representatives. Manufacturers, sales representatives and industry professionals are invited to nominate retailers. Neither membership in ART nor representation at DMC is necessary. The nomination deadline is June 29.

The awards categories include Manufacturer's Awards in the following categories: Accent Furniture, Area Rugs, Decorative Accessories, Home Textiles, Lighting Fixtures, Outdoor Living, Permanent Floral, Portable Lamps, Tabletop and Wall Décor.             

After the nomination deadline at the end of June, finalists are announced in August. Next, they must submit a detailed portfolio on their company, business philosophies and products. In November, industry expert judges meet at Dallas Market Center for two days to separately review products and binders submitted by each company or individual. The judge’s ballots are sealed and sent to a designated accounting firm for tabulation.
