-- Casual Living, 6/5/2008 11:36:00 AM

DEDON was honored with design innovation awards for all three of its newest collections for 2008: Zofa, Phoenix and Spa.

The International Interior Design Association announced the winners of its 12th Annual IIDA/Hospitality and Design Product Design Competition during the HD Expo held in Las Vegas, May 14-17. The IIDA partners with Hospitality Design magazine on the trade show’s educational component, and also sponsors this annual product design competition.

According to IIDA, this year's winners represented an exciting group of products heralded for their innovative and aesthetic properties with direct hospitality applications. Award categories ranged from applied finishes and materials, such as wall coverings, treatments, paints and coatings, to textiles, flooring, seating, lighting case goods, accessories and specialties.

All three of DEDON's newest collections for 2008 won awards at the Expo, as follows:
Spa designed by Richard Frinier: Best Individual Seating Outdoor for the Spa Recliner and Ottoma;
Phoenix designed by Nicolas Thomkins: Best Seating - Group or Series Outdoor,
Zofa designed by Harry and Camila: Best Individual Seating - Lounge Category.

All of DEDON's collections were exhibited exclusively by JANUS et Cie at the HD Expo.

During April, furniture afficianados and visitors streamed to the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan to see the latest trends and current developments in the global furniture industry. DEDON presented the Zofa, Phoenix and Spa collections at its unique exhibit space, which was designed by internationally-acclaimed Jean-Marie Massaud, setting the standard for new luxury in exclusive outdoor furniture design and presentation.

According to show organizers, the i Saloni 2008, as the Milan fair is known, closed with a record number of visitors estimating 348,000 attendees, which was up 29% from the previous year touting 210,000 visitors from outside of Europe in attendance.
