Agio, Carter Grandle, Windham note showroom changes

Windham signs new cushion deal

-- Casual Living, 9/1/2006 7:18:00 AM

Some permanent showrooms have expanded for this year’s Casual Show. Agio International’s 16th floor showroom was enlarged to more than 20,000 sq.-ft. of display space. Windham Castings also has a new permanent showroom on the 16th floor. Carter Grandle relocated its showroom to a 17th floor space nearly double the size.

Agio expands showroom site
A renovation was underway of Agio International’s 16th floor showroom that gives the manufacturer more than 20,000 total square feet of display area, making Agio among the Mart’s largest tenants in the outdoor category.

“Our space inside the Mart was bursting at the seams,” said Doug Peppler, vice president of specialty retail.

Carter Grandle opens larger Mart showroom
Carter Grandle has expanded and relocated its permanent space in the Chicago Merchandise Mart. The new showroom is located in Suite 1757.

The new space, approximately double the size of its previous showroom, allows Carter Grandle the area needed to showcase new collections for Wrangler Home, as well as a variety of other new cast, tubular aluminum and outdoor wicker collections, along with cushions and umbrellas. “…With the new showroom and the vast array of our new collections coming down the pike, we are really looking forward to providing our customers with what they have been asking for,” said Courtland C. Carter, president of Carter Grandle. “The Wrangler Home collections really are something to see and embody the Wrangler brand’s American lifestyle.”

Windham leases showroom, signs new cushion deal
Windham Castings has signed a lease for a permanent showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Windham will be showing in space 1656.

In related news, starting in May, Windham Castings’ cushions were being made by Sarabay Custom, a new cushion company owned and operated by Rachel Walsh, former cushion plant manager for Carter Grandle.
