Capel Rugs' indoor/outdoor introductions draw interest

Features soft modern designs

-- Casual Living, 2/23/2009 1:26:00 PM

Capel wrapped up the 2009 Winter Market season earlier this month with a show-stopping display at Las Vegas Market. Although attendance was down from the previous year, numbers were higher than expected as buyers turned out in force to see Capel's fresh styles for 2009.

"We're very happy with the Las Vegas turnout," said Allen Robertson, vice president of sales for Capel. "The general attitude was positive and focused on optimizing quality, style and value. While buyers were more conservative with their purchases, I think that Capel surpassed their expectations with impressive new offerings."

Capel saw particular interest in soft modern designs for smaller spaces, versatile constructions for multi-use areas and fun, lively patterns that lift the spirits. Braids continued to be a strong seller, with extra attention paid to bold new designs.

Distinctive Inspirations

Capel offered Las Vegas market-goers a fresh take on home decor with new collections inspired by a distinctive and artistic perspective.

Chateau, the latest offering from Capel’s Anywhere line, proved a clear winner at market with its soft hand and transitional floral design. What amazed purchasers even more was its indoor-outdoor versatility.

Chateau is the company's first loop-hooked indoor-outdoor rug, offering supreme softness and cushioning underfoot. Chateau features vintage arts and crafts styling in large-scale floral patterns, which are both elegant and whimsical. The collection is available in Bouquet, Lily Pad and Floral Lace patterns and a variety of colors. Made from durable, 100% Olefin, a 6' x 9' rug may retail for $399.

In a similarly stunning design category, Sweet William adds drama and grace to modern or traditional spaces. This jacquard-woven collection takes design inspiration from the school of William Morris and draws upon fresh colors that have already garnered industry-wide acclaim. Sweet William, made in Belgium, is now available in two new patterned colorways: shadow and agate. A 4'10" x 8' rug may retail for $379.
