Laurie Jenkins, founder of Laurie Bell Fashion Accessories, has launched Laurie Bell Fabrics, a company inspired by fashion and consumers’ demand for customized lifestyle designs that work with today’s style-focused exteriors.
The company’s first introduction will be its decorative pillow program, enabling customers to select, order and receive custom-designed pillows in five to seven days.
Jenkins is partnering with the Online Commerce Group (OCG), a company operating e-commerce sites that sells outdoor furniture and accessories to residential and commercial customers.
“OCG works with innovative companies to create a superior customer experience,” Jenkins said. “It is a strong fit with Laurie Bell Fabrics because it addresses consumers’ needs for a custom product that can be turned around quickly.”
As outdoor areas have evolved into outdoor rooms, Jenkins recognized an opportunity to take her company to the next level by positioning it an an innovator in outdoor design. "People strive to take the guesswork out of selection, and the need the process to be quick and simple," she said.
“Leveraging OCG’s technology and customer base with my knowledge of design and the latest color trend information will help us reach homeowners who want to create personal style in their backyard.”
Scott McGlon, president and CEO of OCG, said his company offers consumers exclusive designs and fabrics at affordable prices via innovative e-commerce sales channels. “The benefit to consumers is the ‘do-it-yourself’ approach," he said. "We are excited to lead the way by giving the consumer the ability to shop when they want and receive the product quickly with straightforward step-by-step tools.”
Jenkins’ new company will give consumers access to exclusive fabrics and trims that complement each other via an online quick ship program that provides a way to integrate the outdoor trends into outdoor spaces. “Our new Web site is user-friendly, addressing consumers’ need for instant gratification. Customers can even order fabric swatches for precise color matching,” Jenkins said.
Despite the soft economy, Jenkins is confident in the direction the company is headed. “All of my time and energy goes to creating the best products on the market that are made in the U.S.,” Jenkins adds. “I look forward to attracting new customers and creating new excitement among fans of Laurie Bell.”
