Rug maker cmi reorganizes sales team for continued growth

Braided-texture indoor/outdoor area rugs manufacturer, cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.) has reorganized its sales department by hiring 19 outside, independent sales representatives. The Pawtucket, R.I.-based company had relied on an internal sales staff for several years, but determined this move was important to best maximize cmi’s continued growth.
“This change was made to ensure we’re marketing the cmi brand to all the ‘mom and pop’ stores and the medium-sized retailers,” President and CEO Donald M. Scarlata said. “We now feel we have a team in place that can best satisfy our customers’ needs while communicating the many benefits of ‘braided’ as a construction, not a style.”
Scarlata said all the outside reps, as well as national sales managers Gregg Scarlata and Meredith Thayer, report to Roy Evans, vice president of sales and marketing.
The new independent sales reps and their respective sales territories are as follows:
