Cast Classics closes due to power outage
Northern N.J. area remains dark

Cast Classics’ corporate offices and main warehouse remain closed because of a power outage caused by weekend storm systems.
The outdoor furniture manufacturer’s facilities are located in Lyndhurst, N.J., which is in northeast corner of New Jersey. That was one of the hardest hit areas during the massive Nor’easters that pummeled the Northeast last weekend. Tens of thousands of homes and businesses are still without utilities after five days. Many of the roads in the area are still closed due to flooding and downed trees.
“I have never seen anything like this in our area,” said Charles Emmons, vice president of Cast Classics. “I still count our blessings though, we (in New Jersey) are still very lucky when you think about what is happening elsewhere around the world. Materials things can always be replaced.”
Cast Classics’ building was spared of any storm damage but has been without power since Sunday and will most likely remain closed for at least another 24 hours. The business is scheduled to open again on Friday, March 19, but that depends on how quickly the utility crews can get all the power restored.
