Buzz and David Ghiz step back from Paddock
-- Casual Living, 8/1/2008 12:00:00 AM
After 50 years of family involvement, brothers David and Buzz Ghiz stepped away from day-to-day operations of Paddock Pools, Patios & Spas, one of the nation's largest backyard living providers.
Started by George Ghiz in 1958 in Phoenix, Paddock was operated by Buzz and David since the mid-1980s. The family sold the business in April 2005 to Lincolnshire Management, a New York-based private equity firm.
Paddock's management team now is led by CEO Jim Cich; CFO Sean Nolen; Jeff Lictenwalter, vice president of pool and remodeling divisions; Gloria McKee, vice president, human resources and Ted Harry, newly hired director of retail stores.
Buzz and David will continue to be investors in Paddock, serve on the company board of directors and act as consultants to the company as needed.
The Ghiz brothers oversaw Paddock's growth from six to 18 stores in the Phoenix and Las Vegas markets, and to more than $100,000,000 in annual revenue.
