Williamsburg has signed a licensing agreement with Troy Lighting and Hudson Valley Lighting to manufacture a collection of indoor and outdoor fixtures, introduced last month at the International Lighting Show in Dallas. New lines were showcased in Troy Lighting and Hudson Valley Lighting's new state-of-the-art, 17,000-sq.-ft. showroom.
The Williamsburg collection will include chandeliers, hanging globes and sconces as well as outdoor lanterns and other exterior lighting, all inspired by antiques in the Colonial Williamsburg collections. Most of the designs will closely replicate the originals, while others will interpret them in an unexpected way with exciting new silhouettes and finishes.
"We are thrilled with our new relationship and the market potential of the upcoming product introductions," said Jim Easton, vice president of products for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. "With the evolving movement toward building new homes with old character, we think the product is right on trend."
The Williamsburg collection by Troy Lighting and Hudson Valley Lighting will sell in the mid-range to high-end price points.
"When we visited the Colonial Williamsburg buildings filled with 18th-century antiques, I became very excited about the possibilities of designs we could obtain from the Foundation's collections," said David Littman, CEO of Troy Lighting and Hudson Valley Lighting.
"Lighting inspired by antiques can be sophisticated yet still retain the character that gives pieces longevity. This is an important factor to my customers who consider lighting an investment. Our relationship with Williamsburg allows us to expand our offering of fashionable lighting for today's eclectic decorating tastes."
Inspired by Colonial Williamsburg, new outdoor lanterns closely replicate originals, while others add a new twist with fresh silhouettes and finishes.
