After 50 years in the retail furniture business, Joe Primock, president of Broadway Furniture in Denver will retire.
Broadway Furniture is a casual retailer of outdoor wicker, wrought iron, teak and jarrah patio furniture. For four consecutive years (2000-2004), Broadway was nominated for an Apollo Award in the single store category from the Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association.
Primock's father Henry opened the interior furniture store in 1936, and Joe worked loading trucks, delivering furniture, in the warehouse and cleaning the store. The store's first line of casual furniture was introduced in the late 1960s with the Samsonite brand, which gradually grew to include a variety of casual furniture lines. Joe purchased the current location in 1983, across the street from the initial store, remodeling and expanding. Broadway Furniture currently has 14,000-sq.-ft. of showroom space and an additional 5,000-sq.-ft. patio showroom.
Primock plans to spend more time with his family.
