Cinde W. Ingram has been promoted to editor in chief of Casual Living from her position as managing editor, effective June 1.
"Cinde has done an outstanding job as managing editor of this magazine, and it is a natural progression for her to assume the additional duties as editor," said Becky B. Smith, who retired May 31 after more than five years as editor in chief of Casual Living and its sister publication Home Accents Today as well as supplements Garden Decor and Relish.
Under Smith's leadership each of the magazines has continued to grow, adding new sections and more at-market dailies — both in print and online.
Ingram joined the staff of Home Accents Today as business editor in September 2001 and added responsibilities for Casual Living later that year following a stint as editor of The Thomasville Times newspaper (Thomasville, N.C.). Before that, she was an award-winning reporter for The News & Record (Greensboro, N.C.) and The High Point Enterprise (High Point, N.C.).
Her duties have included covering the High Point Market since the mid-1980s. She has a degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
