Pacific Sun celebrates 50 years with introductions

Pacific Sun Casual Furniture celebrated its 50-year anniversary as a manufacturer of commercial-grade outdoor furniture recently, with product additions in the teak, all-weather wicker and cast aluminum categories.

"We're extremely pleased to offer this kind of variety," said President Peter Sweetland. "We are now the onestop shop for designers, commercial furniture buyers and property owners, who demand not only durability, but also an even more extensive selection."

The company introduced the Playa Collection, a line of aluminum casual seating and complementary tables; the teak Discovery Collection; and the Mission Collection, a line of cast aluminum dining chairs and suites of all-weather wicker deep seating, poolside and dining furniture.

Previously known as Sun Supply, the company changed its name to Pacific Sun upon its move to Hemet, Calif., in the early 1980s. Since its acquisition by The Winsford Corporation in 2000, the company has expanded its offerings and reached out to a larger customer base.

"We've come a long way since our initial root, and farthest in the last four years," Sweetland said. "By leveraging our capabilities with those of sister companies Forbes Industries and The Harloff Company, as well as investing in a team of talented individuals, we've created an environment that complements the value and selection we offer to the commercial furniture buyer."

Pacific Sun also received a silver ADDY award from the American Advertising Federation for its 36-page color catalog.
