Retailers, your company Web site's search function can earn you new customers. According to the Boston-based Aberdeen Group, 70% of online retailers reported browsers to their Web sites were more likely to become buyers when their Web site's search functions were used. With so many households online (93% of households with incomes of $75,000 or more are online according to the Pew Internet & American Life Project Tracking Survey; nearly four out of 10 households turn to the Internet to research outdoor furniture products in particular according to Casual Living's exclusive 2007 Consumer Buying Trends Survey), it's obvious — consumers want knowledge about specific products they are planning to purchase. With so little time to shop, these busy folks frequently go online before going to the store. So, does your Web site make the grade?
