San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership names Cal Spas as Business of the Year

The San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership presented home resort products manufacturer Cal Spas with its Business of the Year award at its annual awards ceremony, held Oct. 12 at the Pacific Palms Conference Resort in City of Industry, Calif. “Through its ambitious business expansion, resulting in significant increases in employment, Cal Spas is making a very positive impact on the economy of San Gabriel Valley,” said Vance Baugham, director of business assistance, Economic Partnership. In addition to the Business of the Year award, Cal Spas also received certificates of recognition from the California State Senate, the California State Assembly and the County of Los Angeles, as well as a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Grace F. Nepolitano.  “We are extremely honored to be recognized with a San Gabriel Valley Business of the Year award,” said Casey Loyd, president of Cal Spas. “This past April we officially opened our 1-million-sq.-ft., state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. With the addition of this new plant, Cal Spas doubled its workforce to 1,200 employees, many of whom are second-generation employees from the area. Currently we are the largest employer in the city of Pomona, and we will only continue to grow as plans to break ground on a second plant grow nearer.”  Headquartered in Pomona, Calif., Cal Spas was founded in 1979 as a provider of premium-quality luxury hot tubs.
