Ardwyn to make Sunbrella trim

Offers more than 1,000 trim SKUs

-- Casual Living, 10/31/2005 7:03:00 AM

Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, the makers of Sunbrella brand fabrics, has licensed Ardwyn Decorative Products to manufacture and market Sunbrella decorative trim, which offers more than 1,000 trim SKUs to furniture manufacturers and fabric distributors.

“The demand for decorative trim made from Sunbrella yarns is growing as we continue to expand in both casual and interior residential markets,” said Dave Swers, furniture products manager for Glen Raven. “Ardwyn has for many years manufactured bindings using Sunbrella fabrics for awning, marine and automotive applications, which makes our new licensing agreement a natural extension of a long-term relationship.”

Ardwyn, a 65-year-old, fourth-generation family-owned business based in Belleville, N.J., offers Sunbrella fringes, cords and flat braids. The line is available in a full range of colors to match Sunbrella furniture fabrics. Based in Glen Raven, N.C., Glen Raven, Inc. supplies performance fabrics to customers in more than 120 countries. “Our new licensing agreement will help assure that the furniture industry has the resources it needs for all upholstery components,” said Kathy Naegele, Ardwyn president. “With this new licensing agreement in place, we will continue to reach out to the industry through our trade partners.”   Sunbrella performance fabrics are featured by all of the major casual furniture manufacturers and a growing number of interior residential furniture makers. The durability, fade resistance, ease of cleaning and increasing design sophistication of Sunbrella fabrics are fueling this growth.  “We emphasize to everyone working with Sunbrella furniture fabrics that it is essential to use Sunbrella trim as well,” Swers said. “This approach guarantees an exact color match and also assures that the performance attributes of Sunbrella are consistent throughout, from fabric through trim and other embellishments.”  For more information on Ardwyn Decorative Products, contact Naegele or Diane Camooso, design coordinator, at 973-751-4002.
