Tyndall Creek Furniture will officially launch its expanded outdoor rug collection during the Casual Market, Sept. 14–17 in Chicago.
In collaboration with Homemaker Industries, the Wilmington, N.C.-based company initially marketed three rug styles in 2004 as part of its outdoor living concept to complement its line of wooden casual furniture. Due to the success of the program, Tyndall Creek product development manager Jeannie Bethel worked with rug designer Kea Capel Meacham to expand the outdoor rug collection to include more than 80 exclusive rug SKUs.
"It was important to us to develop an assortment that would work well with all casual materials, including sling, cast, wicker and wood," Bethel said. "We wanted to have a rug for every style and color in the casual industry, and our assortment reflects this. We are definitely on target with what is happening in the casual market today, from bright, bold colors to rich, solid neutrals."
Tyndall Creek will handle all marketing of Homemaker rugs to the casual industry.
"We view Tyndall Creek as an ideal partner with which to grow our outdoor rug sales," said Jeff Vaughn, vice president of sales for Homemaker. "With their established reputation, sales representation, infrastructure and customer base, we feel we will grow our presence in the market segment far more quickly than we could independently."
Tyndall Creek's rugs feature 100% polypropylene construction, UV protection, mildew and mold resistance and are reversible. Sizes range from 2×3 to 9×12. An early buy program will be offered.
The outdoor rug collection will be shown during the Casual Market on the 8th floor, Merchandise Mart, space 1063.
