On the following 10 pages, Casual Living spotlights all that is new in performance fabrics for the coming year.

Ranging from stripe designs and paisley patterns to animal prints and more, these fabric debuts not only display what is expected to be popular at the retail level, but, more importantly, the elegant and sophisticated direction the casual industry is headed.

Sophisticated Stripes

Performance fabrics bearing stripes are still No. 1 in terms of best-selling patterns. This year, the designs take on a more preppy tone with plaids in the forefront.
