Alan L. Klein, a longtime outdoor furniture sales rep who earned the nickname nine-line Klein because of the large number of lines he represented, died on April 12.
Klein, 70, of Sandy Springs, Ga., was a second-generation furniture rep, having learned the business from his father. An athlete and ranking scholar at Yale University, Klein began his career in 1959 and worked for some of the finest manufacturers in the industry, most recently representing Winston Furniture, Fashion Bed Group and Natuzzi before retiring last year. He is survived by his wife Sheila, four daughters and sons-in-law and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, 2250 N.
