Warehouse membership clubs and the direct-to-consumer channel are estimated to have the fastest growth this year in the catch-all other outdoor furniture category, which comprises all tables not included with sets or conversation groups, fire pits, bars, serving carts, etageres, storage pieces and other furniture.
At 4% of the outdoor market, other outdoor furniture reached sales of $203 million in 2006 and is projected to grow 2.5% to $208 million in 2007.
Home improvement centers and discount department stores, together with a 71% share of market, sold a combined $142.5 million in other outdoor furniture last year.
Specialty stores, at 13% market share, is projected to grow its sales 3.3% to $27 million in 2007, while warehouse membership clubs and the direct-to-consumer channel are expected to grow 4.7% and 4.5% respectively.
