Watson’s brings theaters home
Creates Envisions division

To fulfill consumers’ dreams of having movie theater experiences at home, Cincinatti-based Watson’s has created a new company, Envisions Home Theater.
Envisions Home Theater systems, backed by Watson’s 40 years of experience in the recreational leisure industry, include flat screen and projection televisions, sound systems, lighting and seating, and encompass all home entertainment needs.
Envisions has already installed a wide scope of home theater projects with costs from less than $3,000 to more than $200,000 – a diverse price range for every budget.
“Where many competitors only do audio and visual aspects of your home entertainment system, we provide the whole package. And you can coordinate all of these efforts with one salesperson,” said Ken Tedrick, president of Envisions. “With Envisions, we provide over 25 years of industry experience.”
Watson’s continues to diversify its product mix. The newly renovated showroom in Evendale, Ohio, includes a section to house Envisions, a larger fireplace and hearth section, and a redesigned outdoor living area.
Watson’s is also rolling out a new Web site to better highlight its products and services, and changing its brand to better reflect its purpose. These additions and changes demonstrate Watson’s commitment to providing top-of-the-line leisure recreation for its Cincinnati clientele.
Linda Hensley was one of the first customers to take advantage of the Watson’s Envisions line. After she moved to SouthShore condominiums in Newport, Ky., in February 2009, Hensley worked with Watson’s to create the home theater system she always wanted. Envisions used some of her existing equipment and added a new 52-inch flat-screen TV, five speakers, speakers in kitchen that are flush with cabinets, a wired master bedroom and bathroom. Envisions prewired the home and made the technology as simple as possible, including a master control to allow her to listen to iPod, watch TV, movies, listen to CDs, connect to Web – all at the push of a button.
“It’s been excellent. Envisions is a great company, with great customer service,” Hensley said. “They did everything they said they were going to do, and everything’s working great.”
Cincinnati resident Kirk Perry consulted with Envisions to create a home theater in his Lake Norris, Tenn. vacation home. Perry, his wife and four kids “wanted something casual, nothing over the top, with sound system outside and wireless throughout the place.” Envisions supplied everything and installed three rooms with a surround sound system including speakers throughout house, a wireless router, Apple TV and outdoor speakers. Though the system is high-tech it is “simple enough to use that my 5-year-old can use it.”
“We gave Envisions the specifications, and they were able to make great choices for us,” Perry said.
Watson’s started in downtown Cincinnati in 1969 as a vending machine distributing company. It has evolved into one of the nation’s largest recreational product retailers. Based in Cincinnati, Watson’s operates in franchise and corporate stores in eight other markets.
