Casual Living designs retailer vignettes at HPB Expo

Staff -- Casual Living, 3/1/2006 12:00:00 AM

For the second year at the HPB Expo, Casual Living magazine is creating outdoor vignettes to help retailers merchandise product more successfully.

Designer Mark Abrams will work with manufacturers who are sponsoring the project to present three major vignettes filled with outdoor furniture, grills, firepits and accessories. The vignettes are color-themed in shades of blue and green, red and ochre and black and tan.

"The biggest challenge for retailers is to have time and talent to create eye-catching displays that help the customers envision how the furniture can look on their own patio or back yard," Abrams said. "Too often, retailers don't offer enough of the sizzle to create add-on sales and we hope our display will help them do so."

Also available at the booth and in this issue of the magazine is a retailer guide, Get Smart ... Quick, which provides specific detail on creating similar displays in-store.

"We are excited to be working again with HPBA to help retailers be more successful," said Terry Lail, publisher of Casual Living. "This project complements what we do each month as we provide information and support for specialty casual retailers and help manufacturers show product in the best ways."

Sponsors for the vignettes are Cal Spas, Shuford Mills, Outdura, Currey & Company, Tyndall Creek, O.W. Lee, Merritt International, Trees International, Weatherprint by Open Air Designs, Outdoor Designs and Desa International. The Casual Living display can be seen in Booth 101.
