Target to launch Smith & Hawken line

Debut set for late '05

Smith & Hawken will design an exclusive line of outdoor furniture and decor for Target, adding another upscale brand. The Smith & Hawken line will be available in Target garden centers in late 2005 and in Target stores nationwide in March 2006.

"The addition of Smith & Hawken allows is to continue surprising our guests with well-respected brands at accessible prices," Target President Gregg Steinhafel said. "Premium outdoor furniture and decor from Smith & Hawken are the perfect complement to our existing garden and patio offerings, reinforcing our position as a destination for outdoor living."

The partnership with is a perfect fit, Smith & Hawken President Barry Sanders said. "We are excited that Target guests will be able to experience the quality and integrity of the Smith & Hawken brand when they visit Target stores next year," Sanders said.

Minneapolis-based Target operates 1,351 stores in 47 states. Smith & Hawken markets garden-inspired outdoor living products through its 59 stores, catalog and Internet site as well as independent garden centers.
