Award winners named at Casual Market

The leading retailers in the casual furniture industry were honored at the 2008 Apollo Awards, held during the Casual Market. Regarded as the highest honor among casual furniture retailers, the Apollo Awards celebrate the influential contributions made by industry icons. Winners are selected from hundreds of retailers throughout the country.
Selection for the Apollo Awards begins with members of the International Casual Furnishings Association offering three nominations in each category. The winners from each category are then chosen by ballot by members of the ICFA.

The Merchandising Excellence Awards also honored showroom presentation. In the Temporary/Accessories category, first place went to The HammockSource, second place toElaine Smith Pillows and third to Couristan.
Seaside Casual Furniture took top honors in the Temporary/Furniture category, with Outback Chair Co. taking second and Poly Wood, third.
In the Furniture and Accessories Permanent Showrooms under 5,000 Square Feet, O.W. Lee earned first place for the third time in four years. ScanCon N.A. took second and Treasure Garden, third.
In Furniture and Accessories Permanent Showrooms over 5,000 Square Feet, Laneventure took first place, Jardin de Ville, second place, and Brown Jordan, third.
Telescope Casual won Manufacturer of the Year in the Manufacturer Leadership Awards’ Furniture category. Other finalists in the furniture category wereHanamint, O.W. Lee, Lloyd/Flanders and Gloster.
Treasure Garden earned Manufacturer of the Year in the Accessories category. Other finalists in the accessories category were Galtech, Merritt, Quality Cushion Factory and Tervis Tumblers.
The Manufacturer Leadership Awards recognize quality design, merchandising, customer service, ethics, communication and trade relations. Finalists were determined by a vote of the members of the Casual Furniture Retailers Association.
