Glen Raven Custom Fabrics has partnered with braided-texture area rugs manufacturer cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.) to produce the Renaissance collection, utilizing a new recycled Sunbrella yarn from Glen Raven's Renaissance Recycling program.

Renaissance rug

Renaissance rug enhances outdoor living area.

The only rug on the market made of 100% Sunbrella fiber, this indoor-outdoor rectangular rug collection is fade and stain resistant. Ideal for outdoor applications, such as decks, porches, patios and poolside, as well as indoor environments, including kitchens, dining areas, family rooms, sunrooms and bathrooms, the Renaissance Collection is manufactured in a flat-braid construction which makes for a durable, reversible rug.

“The Sunbrella rug is ideal for any home setting. It works beautifully as an indoor rug, and dramatically enhances the feel of the outdoor room,” said Gina Wicker, design and creative director of Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, the makers of Sunbrella fabrics. “Thanks to innovative companies, such as cmi, consumers have access to an incredible diversity of stylish products that offer years of carefree enjoyment.”

Sunbrella yarns were developed for the braided-rug construction from Glen Raven's Renaissance Recycling Program and feature 50% recycled content from manufacturing and downstream waste. The remaining 50% of virgin Sunbrella fiber maintains color consistency and control. The resulting effect is a rug with the look and feel of rich wool and the ease of care expected in a Sunbrella product.

The Renaissance rugs are available in six patterns and 12 colorways. By choosing a specific pattern, size and color, consumers can truly design a rug to meet their needs.

“Homeowners looking for a colorful accent for their outdoor room or a durable indoor rug for active lifestyles will recognize Sunbrella fabric's reputation for color and performance,” said Donald M. Scarlata, president and CEO of cmi. We expect this new collection will allow us to supply a tremendously successful accessory to specialty retailers, catalogs and furniture manufacturers.”
