Wearbest Sil-Tex Mills President and CEO Irwin Gasner announced that his son Ari Gasner has become brand manager for Bella-Dura fabrics.
Ari, who represents the fourth generation to join the family-owned mill, enters the textile business after five years in the commercial real estate industry.
“Ari will be an extreme asset to the company; he will bring a new flavor and bright ideas coming from a different industry,” Irwin said. “He is a natural born merchant and this will be an easy transition for him.”
Ari’s goal is to expand the presence of Bella-Dura fabrics in the casual industry which he said, “will add new patterns and fresh colors on top of a 100% cradle-to-cradle fabric.”
Bella-Dura fabrics are inherently and permanently stain-resistant, anti-microbial, anti- fungal and bleach cleanable; the fabric exceeds 50,000 double rubs and 1,500 hours lightfastness. Bella-Dura is MBDC certified silver and is the winner of the 2008 Earth Minded Award.
Although Ari will be based in Wearbest’s New York studio, the fabric suppliers’ sales force is gearing up to spread the story of Bella-Dura across the nation. In the coming months, Wearbest will partner with distributors to offer cut yardage programs, which will allow for shorter lead times.
“With a strong network of sales representatives both in house and all over the country we are confident in the success Bella-Dura is sure to garner in the casual market,” Ari said.
Two new Bella-Dura fabrics:
|
Resort group features fun, bold patterns in a fresh color palette. This group includes tropical and seaside motifs, as well as transitional all-over patterns, such a fun swirly scroll and palm leaves. The story is tied together with coordinating plains, stripes and textures. Resort patterns are colored in sandy neutrals, classic navy and white, fresh greens and bright corals and oranges. These casual designs are perfect for breezy environments, whether seaside, lakeside or poolside, and will compliment a variety of frames, including teak, wicker or white wood.

The Artisan group features sophisticated looks in traditional motifs such as paisleys, frames, flame-stich and scrolls. They are rendered in a way to recall such artisan techniques as fresco, stichery and stonework. This lifestyle story is rounded out with plains, textures and stripes that coordinate. The color palette is rich and features warm neutrals, deep chocolates, patina blues-greens and terra cotta. Artisan patterns are suitable for indoor or outdoor environments, and will compliment a variety of frames such as teak, dark wood and metal.
