Briefly.....

Nearly 15 million grills were shipped in North America last year according to the most recent figures from the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association. That's down about 10% from 2008 but still represents a significant amount of grills shipped.

Considering grilling is one of most popular activities for consumers in the United States, this number will likely increase as the economy continues its recovery. New York-based Easy Analytic Software, Inc. (EASI) is predicting an increase in grill sales of 16.7% over the next five years. And, that's good news for the industry.

According to Casual Living and HGTV's exclusive 2009 Outdoor Spaces Survey, 56% of consumers would include a grill in their ideal home resort — and with the grilling season heating up, many consumers may just add a new grill to their outdoor space.
