Ancient Mosaic Studios taps Wasylenko for top sales post

Maurice DiTrapani named controller

-- Casual Living, 8/13/2007 7:09:00 AM

Ancient Mosaic Studios and Piage-Pieta Art Stone, designers and manufacturers of handcrafted outdoor furniture and accessories, appointed John M. Wasylenko to the new post of director of sales and marketing for both divisions.

Wasylenko brings 18 years of experience as vice president of marketing and sales in the promotional advertising industry, the majority of those years with holding company Wilson Brothers USA. He has extensive experience in developing acquired business subsidiaries, creating and managing independent sales representative networks, account and product management, sales/market creation and trade-show direction.

Wasylenko also has 10 years of progressive multi-plant manufacturing management experience in the printing and paper converting industry. He holds an MBA degree from LaSalle University (Pa.) and a Bachelor’s of Science in Operations Management from Drexel University (Pa.). He reports to managing partners Tim Capron and Paul Knutson.

“We believe that John’s background is a perfect fit with the needs of Ancient Mosaic Studios and Piage & Pieta in relation to key accounts and sales management,” Capron said.

“John brings a wealth of expertise to this new position in all areas of sales and marketing and we’re delighted to bring him on board,” Knutson said.

Because Ancient Mosaic Studios entered new product arenas with the recent acquisition of Piage & Pieta, both Knutson and Capron agree Wasylenko will better enable management to transform the company from a niche tabletop producer to a much broader specialty furniture manufacturer.

“I am excited about the opportunity of joining such progressive entrepreneurs and a company that is poised for tremendous growth,” Wasylenko said.

Maurice DiTrapani also was named controller for both Ancient Mosaic Studios and Piage-Pieta Art Stone. DiTrapani brings several years of experience to his new position and is responsible for overseeing all administrative functions including accounting, customer service, human resources, I.T., financial reporting and control.
