Glen Raven Custom Fabrics launches Sunbrella Web site

Featuring consumer-friendly design

-- Casual Living, 3/30/2009 11:30:00 AM

Glen Raven Custom Fabrics has launched a new Sunbrella Web site that is designed for the homeowners’ and boat owners’ point of view.

A consumer’s perspective is reflected throughout the new Web site, including a searchable fabrics library that assists site visitors in locating the right fabric. By clicking on a fabric design, consumers can see how the fabric will appear in an indoor or outdoor setting or on a boat.

“An ‘At Home’ segment focuses on inspiration for living spaces making them more beautiful and functional but also easier to maintain by using Sunbrella fabrics indoors and out, from awnings to furniture,” said Hal Hunnicutt, vice president of marketing for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. “Having a beautiful living area in your home is a lot more fun when you can actually use it without worrying about cleaning spills or sunlight fading fabrics.”

“The ‘On the Water’ section of the site features the boating lifestyle, illustrating how Sunbrella fabrics make days on the water even better, above and below deck,” Hunnicutt said. “‘Around Town’ speaks to how Sunbrella fabrics improve so many areas of daily life, such as shelters over business entrances.”

“Inspiration is a central theme for the new Sunbrella Web site,” said Gina Wicker, design and creative director for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. “We want consumers to aspire to a Sunbrella fabrics lifestyle that is beautiful, comfortable and easy care. Our new Web site encourages creative thinking through images and text supported by intuitive navigation.”

“For the first time, we’ve expanded our Web image gallery to include many exclusive designs available to the trade through interior designers,” Wicker said. “In the past, we’ve only included our standard open line awning and furniture collections. The expansion with more decorative fabrics will help consumers and designers better understand our entire product offering.”

A ‘Where to Buy’ directory assists consumers in locating convenient sources for products ranging from awnings to indoor and outdoor furniture. The consumer experience is further complemented by detailed instructions on care and cleaning. A new Sunbrella blog features the latest news, decorating tips and other information about Sunbrella fabrics.

“The site also integrates the new look of the Sunbrella brand,” Hunnicutt said. “The site showcases the new logo and signature orange color, which ties in with all product materials, advertising, brochures and labeling. The result is a consistent, powerful and modern voice for our brand.”

“We've launched a solid new foundation for the Sunbrella brand on the Web,” Hunnicutt said. “The Internet is a dynamic, constantly evolving, consumer-focused medium and we are using it to tell the Sunbrella story in a way that relates to the needs of consumers and our trade partners.”
