Bella-Dura by Wearbest debuts two lifestyle groups

Coastal and artisan influences appear

-- Casual Living, 7/17/2009 12:21:00 PM

Wearbest’s casual fabrics line, Bella-Dura, introduces two new lifestyles for 2009, Seaside and Artisan.

“Seaside is perfect for your classic outdoor environment,” said Eileen Sarrasin, senior stylist for Wearbest. It features bold tropical motifs as well as those suitable for all climates.

“Updated, contemporary patterns with airy, flowing transitional motifs with graceful movement and open ground complete the collection,” Sarrasin said. “These casual, soothing designs will be perfect for breezy environments, whether seaside, lakeside or poolside.” Seaside patterns in pale blues and stone grays as well as grass greens and chocolate browns will be offered, she said.

Artisan is an indoor/outdoor story suitable for any environment. The lifestyle features traditional motifs such as paisley, frames, flame stitches and scrolls, but rendered in a way to recall artisan techniques like fresco, stitching, stonework, batik and ikat. “The collection is richly detailed and colored in deep teals, plums, spicy reds, greens and golds,” Sarrasin said.

Each lifestyle will have five or six color stories and will be represented by a large-scale pattern flagged with plains, stripes and smaller scale correlates.

“Our goal is to make the collection very fun and user friendly,” Sarrasin said. “We have had such success working this way with individual customers that it seemed like a natural step to incorporate this kind of merchandising into our line.”
