Grand Strand

Courtney Mueller -- Casual Living, 7/1/2005 12:00:00 AM

Decorating at the beach can be fun as consumers have a raft of styles and products to choose from — from coastal cottage charm to preppy nautical themes and whimsical outdoor accents. Here's a sampling of oceanfront introductions.

Consumers can enjoy framed art outdoors from RainSafe Images, all rain-, heat-, UV- and humidity-resistant with decorative borders and coordinating placemats.
Designed by Jeannie Flynn, the Cabane De Soleil by CMS Commercial Furniture adds romance to the outdoors with a sun bed built for two, highlighted by a convertible canopy.
Create a candlelit atmosphere in hard-to-light areas outdoors with Pangaea's Champagne torches, featuring a powdercoated pewter finish and constructed of recycled wrought iron.
The Recycled Glass Collection from Peking Handicraft evokes images of old glass washed up on the shore in its complete line of tabletop pieces, including vases, votives, dishes, glasses, serving pieces and decorative bottles.
Tropitone's Portofino II market umbrella now has a tilting mechanism, allowing consumers to maneuver the umbrella into different positions to create shade even as the sunlight direction changes.

Sit in comfort on a breezy summer day in a folding beach chair from Telescope Casual, featuring bright seasonal shades like salsa, coastal and ocean.
Add whimsy to the outdoors with Square Nest's Flip Flop wall hooks, each adorned with colorful polka dots and daisies.
From the Funky Girl Chimes Collection, Care & Wonder's Beach Girl is a hand-painted windchime with hanging beaded beach mementos expressing the distinct style of beach fun in the sun.
Lounging may not be for everyone, so the Florence position chair from Environ Trading may suit better, with textilene over aluminum that locks into several positions.
Catch a breeze with Seahorse Spinners from New Creative Enterprises with bright blues and greens, reminiscent of the ocean.
Beachgoers can get in the tropical mood with Fish lanterns from Regal Art & Gift, featuring a metal and bead construction and also available in a complete line of wall hooks, chimes, tealights and more.
Store wine, beer, soda pop and more at-hand with the break-resistant wine party tub from Prodyne, made from crystal clear acrylic with easy-to-carry handles.
Textillery Weavers' outdoor throws will keep swimmers warm on chilly nights poolside or seaside.
Simple lines highlight the Oxford Garden chaise lounge, with rubber-treaded wheels and a tray that slides to either side.
