Staff -- Casual Living, 2/1/2005 12:00:00 AM

Telescope Casual Furniture took home the Casual Furniture Retailers Association's Manufacturer Leadership Award at the start of its Jan. 10–12 All-Industry Forum in Atlanta.

"It's only the tenth day of the year and I can tell you we're going to have a great year," Telescope President Henry Vanderminden IV said as he accepted the award. He gave credit to employees at the factory, retailers and consumers.

Telescope was a finalist in the extruded aluminum furniture category. Other finalists in the furniture category were: Hanamint, cast aluminum; Lloyd/Flanders, wicker; Meadowcraft, iron and Gloster, wood.

Brown Jordan International won the top CFR award in the accessories category. Ron Ball, vice president of specialty sales, accepted the award and expressed thanks to "the folks we have in factories spread around the world."

Other finalists in the accessories category were Carter Grandle, GalTech, Olympia Lighting and Treasure Garden.

"This year, the finalists in each division are outstanding," CFR President Craig Chapello said.

The CFR awards were established in 1990 to honor excellence among casual furniture manufacturers.
